Rosa Mystica's legacy is a testament to dedication, learning, and holistic development.
From a Germ to a tree “A traveller on dusty road strewed acorns on the lea, And one took root and sprouted up and grew into a tree”-Charles Mechay
The visionary Father Founder, Msgr. RFC Mascarenhas planted the seed of his vision. He held a special place in his heart for the impoverished, particularly children. His concern for education, especially primary education, paralleled that of Gandhi. He established numerous primary schools and recognized the necessity for a Teacher Training Institution to nurture proficient educators for these schools. His aspiration bore fruit in July 1945, when on the 2nd day of that month, a Teacher Training Institution commenced atop a hill near Gurpur.
Fr. Raymond bestowed the name "Rosa Mystica" upon the Institute, honouring Mother Mary with her revered title, signifying the Mystical Rose.
In 1948, the Bethany Educational Society came into being, driven by a vision to magnify God's glory through the sanctity of its members and the service of God's kingdom. The central objective was to provide Transformative Education, fostering a life of abundance. The core of our educational pursuit lies in nurturing holistic human development by one's ultimate purpose. This encompasses establishing a non-violent and non-exploitative social, cultural, and economic framework grounded in a life vision that resonates with Gospel values and human dignity.
Within our institution, academics are complemented by an unwavering commitment to unlock the potential of our youth. This entails cultivating heart, mind, and skill through extracurricular activities, sports, and games. The collaboration between educators and management, a sense of community among students, internalizing life skills, individualized attention to learners, and a pervasive atmosphere of love and compassion, particularly for those who require additional support, distinguish Rosa Mystica Teacher Training Institute.
Over the past 78 years, nearly 6000 young women have passed through our halls, setting forth on diverse missions across the country and the world. Our facilities are adeptly designed to accommodate the latest entrants – candidates pursuing Teacher Training in the D.Ed. Kannada Sections. We provide well-equipped classrooms, a hall, activity rooms, furnishings, a library, laboratories, a playground, instructional resources, and a media laboratory complemented by highly qualified faculty.
Rosa Mystica's legacy is a testament to dedication, learning, and holistic development. Our commitment to shaping bright futures remains unwavering, driven by the teachings of our Founder and the aspirations of the Bethany Educational Society.
